Mobile Blasting That Strips Paint and Cleans Concrete

Sandblasting strips old paint, coating and grime off a surface with air and abrasive. Our work covers the Central Valley, the Bay Area and Sacramento, including sandblasting in Modesto. The equipment comes to your site, so walls, slabs, steel and stucco get blasted where they stand. What you get back is a clean, sound surface that new paint or coating can grip.

This company has been in the family since 1967. It started out building homes, spent decades in flooring, then moved into environmental and demolition work. We hold CSLB #247684 and CAL OSHA #507, and every estimate is free. We look at the surface, the coating and the access before we price a sandblasting job.

What We Handle

  • Graffiti taken off concrete, block and brick

  • Slabs roughened so new coatings bond tight
  • Commercial and industrial sandblasting on your site

What Sandblasting Cleans and Strips

Sandblasting pushes abrasive at a surface under air pressure through a hose and a hardened nozzle. The abrasive knocks loose whatever sits on top and stops at the hard material below. Old paint, epoxy, mill scale, rust and years of heavy soil all come off that way. On a stucco wall, the blast takes the finish back to bare substrate in a clean line. How hard we run the nozzle depends on the surface and on what has to stay put.

We blast concrete, block, brick, stucco, steel and wood siding on buildings and structures. Concrete sandblasting cleans a slab or a wall face before paint or a new coating goes down. Graffiti lifts off block and concrete cleanly, right down into the pores of the surface. Steel comes back to clean bare metal, which is what primer needs to hold on. When a wall or slab is coming out anyway, the blasting runs with our concrete demolition work.

Does sandblasting make a lot of dust?

Dry sandblasting throws dust, and on an occupied building or a tight lot that matters. Most of our outside work runs as slurry blasting, which people also call wet sandblasting. Water rides along with the abrasive and knocks the dust down as it leaves the nozzle. The spent abrasive and old paint fall close to the wall instead of drifting off the site. We screen and cover the work area, then sweep up the spent media and haul it off the site.

Some surfaces come clean with water by itself, and that changes the tool we bring. Where that works, we switch to hydro blasting at 40,000 psi with full HEPA vacuum recovery. The unit pulls the water and the debris back as the coating comes off the surface. Inside a building that is still in use, that is usually the better way to go. We look at the job first, then tell you whether sandblasting or water suits it better.

Who Hires Us for Sandblasting and How a Job Runs

Property owners call for sandblasting when paint is failing or a wall looks stained and tired. General contractors bring us in to clean a structure before the next trade starts work. Facility managers use us on block walls, structural steel, loading docks and equipment pads. Coating installers hire us to rough up a slab so their product bonds the way it should. After a fire, blasting can take soot and char off block and concrete as part of our fire damage cleanup work.

A sandblasting job starts with a site visit and a free estimate. We check the surface, the coating, the access and anything nearby that has to be protected. On the day, we mask glass, doors and plants, then set screening around the work zone. Blasting runs from the ground or from a lift, in full protective gear, one wall at a time. At the end we collect the spent media and water, haul it off, and hand back a clean surface.

FAQ

Sandblasting Questions, Answered

Common questions about sandblasting across the Central Valley, the Bay Area and Sacramento. If yours is not here, call and ask.

Call (209) 652-9206

What surfaces can you sandblast?
We blast concrete, block, brick, stucco, steel and wood on buildings and structures. The work happens at your place, on the wall, the slab or the steel itself. Sandblasting also cleans fences, gates, beams and columns that are staying where they are. Tell us what the surface is and what is on it, and we will say if sandblasting fits.
Will sandblasting damage the surface underneath?
We match the air pressure, the nozzle and the abrasive to the material we are blasting. Soft brick and old stucco get a lighter setting than structural steel does. We run a small test patch and show you the result before we do the whole wall. Sandblasting should take the coating off and leave the brick, block or steel under it sound.
Do you do wet sandblasting or dry sandblasting?
We do both, and the surface and the site usually decide which one we bring. Slurry blasting mixes water into the stream, so most of the dust stays right at the wall. Dry sandblasting suits spots where added water would cause trouble, such as bare steel that has to stay dry before primer. We tell you which one we plan to run before any work starts.
Can you blast a building that has old paint on it?
Yes, though on an older building we ask what the coating is before sandblasting starts. Where asbestos is a question, a certified asbestos consultant does the sampling before we touch it. We do the removal under asbestos abatement rules, with containment up around the work. Once that material is gone and the area is clear, the blasting picks up again.
Which cities do you cover for sandblasting?
Central Valley work runs through Riverbank, Modesto, Turlock, Manteca, Stockton, Tracy and Lodi. On the Bay side we cover San Jose, Santa Clara, Fremont, Hayward, Oakland and San Francisco. We also take sandblasting work in Sacramento, Elk Grove, Livermore, Pleasanton and Santa Cruz. Call (209) 652-9206 with the address and what is on the surface now.
